Porec Croatia Picture
Early April 2006

Situated at the bottom of the Adriatic sea at the Istria peninsula not far from Venice where we flew in. Charming old buildings circle the harbor area.

Today is filled with peace and quiet. A lonesome seagull flying low over the calm waves.

I always love being close to the ocean. The boats used to bring fresh fish for our dinner.

Details of the nets and other equipment used by the fishermen.

An absolutely charming old fashioned wooden boat.
Imagine sailing the Mediterranean on a boat like this...

...or if you are in a hurry - take the ferry to Venice. This beast looks FAST.

Cozy entrance to a typical flat in Porec. A hand carved stone steps framed in a row of potted plants.

Natural coastline with no sand but still inviting for the summers sun seekers.

As we are here a few days before Easter and the tourist guest flood has not started yet. You can still imagine kids playing in the man made pool with the crystal clear Adriatic sea water.

Tennis played on clay courts is a new experience for me. Porec offers great tennis courts and is particularly popular by German tennis-players. Since we got a tennis coach to improve our technique and are able to play two times a day for the whole week, improvements are almost inevitable.

Here is something that caught my eye. I like the rusty look.
I can recommend a visit to Porec Croatia for all. It looks inviting and friendly for taking the kids.

Croatia Wallpaper Croatia is a beautiful country by the Adriatic sea. I spent a few days in the small town of Porec and enjoyed it very much. The scenery is charming, full of old houses and old boats with the crystal clear ocean and coastline. |
