London Tours

Touring London at the time me and my son did in the week between the bombings in May 2005 was a bit strange with streets closed and police extra alert. Still - London offers a lot of places of interest and you can spend days exploring the city.
London is one of the world's most populous and diverse cities and in addition to being one of the most-visited spots on the globe, it can also be one of the most dizzying! Many tourists who head to London for the first time end up feeling quite overwhelmed by the city itself, but by signing up for a London tour, you can make sure that you get the most out of your visit. A London tour is a good way to see the city at a measured pace and make sure that you hit all the spots you want to hit. These tours can be as specific or as general as you like and you can always find a tour with a pace that suits you, whether you are interested in taking everything at a breakneck pace or you are looking for a longer, more sedate tour.
London tours are a great way to get to know the city. You'll find that several sightseeing companies offer the benefit of seeing London from a large bus. While seated comfortably, you'll be able to see the landscape go by and listen to commentary from native guides who can explain the history and the significance of a city that has stood for over a thousand years. Many of these bus tours also provide you with excellent ways to get to and from terrific attractions. The tours encourage you to get off the bus when you see something that interests you and then to return to the stop to resume to tour when you are done.

The London Underground, also known as the Tube, is an underground railway system, one of the oldest in the world and definitely the longest in length. Although most Tube stations are completely modern, you'll find that there are many tours that will take you to the darker, older segments of the system. For instance, there is a tour at the Aldwych station that will take you to inactive, lonely looking parts of the London Underground.

While London's famous black taxi cabs can of course be used in the traditional way, many companies will allow you to book a cab for a tour. You'll be able to make sure that you always have access to vehicular transportation wherever you wander, and depending on the company, you can also request that the driver take you sightseeing through England's capital. This is possibly the most luxurious and convenient way to see the city, but keep in mind that it is a bit more pricey than other methods. While you're out and about, make sure to snap a picture of the famous red London telephone boxes. These ubiquitous structures are one of the notable landmarks of the London streets.

When you are planning a vacation to England's capital, make sure that you book a tour. To take your mind off the problem of where to go and how to get there, not to mention giving you time to get in all those photographs you want to take, a tour is one of the best things you can join!

Museum London Me and my son saw the London display of the wax museum. The figurines looked so real and so lifelike. We had great fun posing beside them - just like thousands before us - I guess. |

Still standing on its original site in Bloomsbury, London, since 1759, the British Museum is one of the most important museums in the world, with collections of historic and cultural significance from all continents. |

Tower of London If you have an interest in a piece of English history that is at once deeply significant while still maintaining a sharp edge of horror, then the Tower of London should be your destination of choice! Situated right in the center of London on the north side of the River Thames, the Tower of London has been a fortress, a prison and a royal palace during it's near thousand year history. |
