Dan and Anna are a husband and wife team whose first love is the
Lord and second love is each other. Growing up in Europe has given
them a unique perspective. They value culture, people, and the
intricacies of life; always striving to reveal true beauty in their
art, to capture the uniqueness of the subjects, and have their
personalities shine through the photos.
Tell us a little about yourself and your photography.
We are a husband and wife team. Dan has been photographing since
2006 and Anna joined him in 2008. We both had a love of photography from a young age and began taking courses in high school. We have contemporary wedding style featuring brilliant colors, bold contrasts, and a balance of classic elegance and modern glamour.
Portrait sessions are orchestrated to create vibrant images of the
bride and groom and wedding party. The moments of getting-ready, the ceremony, and the reception are captured candidly, allowing the
emotions and story of the day to be told as it happened. This offers
a unique and intimate experience for each couple.
Dan’s focus is always on the technical aspects and overall
big-picture while Anna pays close attention to the details and
emotions. Our photography styles complement one another, each
contributing unique abilities and concentrations.
Why did you start taking photos?
Dan’s original inspiration was his father, who photographed the
European landscape from their home in Brussels, Belgium. His passion was guided through a father-son mentorship and his technique developed through several years of formal classroom instruction.
Having an art teacher as a mother, Annalise has always been
interested in art in many forms. In high school she focused mainly
on photography because she enjoyed capturing moments in time on
What makes Minneapolis especially good for wedding
Minneapolis offers so many great wedding venues and a variety of
seasons. It is so cool to be able to photograph a wedding at the
same venue but at different times of the year and have a great
variety in the photos.
Your work closely with your wife. How is that helping to
reveal the beauty of the special day?
Every wedding we are at reminds of our own in some way or another.
We get to experience those feelings again and can use that to really
capture the emotions of the day. We love working side by side and
are always in tune with each other, knowing what to do next.
What kind of a camera and lenses do you primarily use and
how do you select your equipment?
We uses Canon. We have multiple 5D mark 2s and a wide variety of L-series lenses.
During the day we primarily shoot with the 70-200mm, 35mm, and 50mm.
